Behind the two doors, you’ll find an adjustable shelf and lots of storage space. Pull the two knobs in the middle, and the dining table emerges. Casters make it easy to pull out the table. Also, behind the faux top drawer, we carved out an empty space for storing leaves to extend the table. Our Amish cabinetmakers build the kitchen island, using solid hardwoods like quarter-sawn white oak (shown). No wonder the piece is so sturdy, it’s heirloom-quality! Now, make it yours.
