Mennonite and Amish furniture is crafted in small Amish and Mennonite shops in Northern Indiana and Ohio, rather than in large manufacturing facilities. The Amish and Mennonite cabinetmakers use genuine North American hardwoods — such as oak, maple, cherry and hickory.  In general, the artisans do not use particle board, medium-density fiberboard (MDF) or veneers. Also, the Amish and Mennonite craftsmen built with quality, proven construction techniques and detail, ensuring heirloom-quality durability.

The LeRoy Weaver family has been in the Shipshewana furniture industry for more than 30 years, and the family owns Brandenberry Furniture. The Brandenberry concept allows our clients to design the furniture of their dreams. This includes exploring the rich woods and stains that only nature can offer. To assist in your selection, we’ve dedicated much of the store to educating our clients on wood species, furniture styles and color options. We also offer a selection of exclusive custom furniture. Also, we work directly with numerous builders. So, we always offer the newest designs and collections.

Working directly between the builder and the buyer enables Brandenberry to offer competitive prices. So, you can think of our furniture as ‘workshop direct.’ We cut down on the extra charges added by Amish wholesalers. Also, our builders impose no restrictions on pricing. In fact, they always work to ensure the best pricing between the builder and the buyer.
