The rise of the post-war middle class and a “baby-boom” saw an increase in multi-use furniture. For example. recliners became fixtures in the home as men sought a practical, affordable means of relaxation. Also, the home television set came into vogue. This trend made it necessary for homeowners to acquire occasional furniture that would allow the entire family to gather for their favorite shows.
All of this invariably led to the creation and development of Family Room Furniture.
